The One and Only
The last two years have seen some big changes to Balmoral Boards. Here's the lowdown. Andrew, owner of the Mosman store, wanted to pursue other stuff so he closed down Balmoral Boards at Mosman in late 2010. We at the Narrabeen store (for 7 years already!) still love snowboarding, so we bought the name outright, built a comprehensive online store, and are going strong down here on the beaches. If you've never been here, come say G'day! It's worth it. Great range, better service, lot's of passion! If it's not convenient for you, hit up our new e-store. Easy!
We retail Snowboarding, Skateboarding, Wakeboarding and Kitesurfing equipment.
We also offer Snowboard and Ski Tuning, waxing and repairs and Snowboard hire.
Other services include Wakeboard/Waterski repairs and rental, as well as Kite and bladder repairs.
From humble beginnings on the corner of Awaba and Spit roads Mosman, Balmoral Boards was born.
Starting out as Balmoral Sailboarding and retailing windsurfing equipment through the late 80's Andrew Allen ran many memorable windsurfing getaways.
When snowboarding first appeared, Balmoral boards was Sydney's orignal store. Introducing snowboarding to many people and becoming the must visit store. Stocking all the core brands and equipment and educating people on the gear which best suited their needs.
As other board sports evolved so did the range of gear you could find at Balmoral. Skateboarding has always been well represented within the store and this has been a great crossover with both the snow and wake markets. With both Wakeboarding and Kiteboarding evolving during the 90's these were sports which fitted in with the living sideways ideals the store represented.
These new sports also introduced a different group of people to snowboarding, going back to one of the real strengths of the store.
In 2004 it was decided that Balmoral boards should expand and bring another location to sydney's northern beaches. The Narrabeen store was born. Being right next to one of Sydney's most popular kiting beaches, close to pittwater and bringing snowboarding to the surfers looking for something different in the winter. Andrius and Nathan (who you will often see in store) jumped at the oppurtunity and became partners in this new venture.
61/2 years on.
After 22 years at the wheel Andrew Allen has decided to move on and pursue other passions. With this came the closing of the Mosman store. A store known to many people from all over Australia.
So it’s with a little sadness at seeing this store pass and some excitement in what is to come the boys at the Narrabeen store fully take the reigns.
Into our 7th year at the Narrabeen location, Balmoral Boards is now well known through the board sports community on the northern beaches. Becoming the premiere destination for Snow and water enthusiasts.
The new Balmoral boards website including on-line store is now up and running and we’re stoked with the finished product. Our goal here is to bring our passion, experience and knowledge to board riders from all over Australia.
Not only does the on-line store act as a great catalogue and point of reference, it also allows people from all over to check out exactly what we have in store and the range of products we offer. They can now also get these items delivered straight to their door.
