Balmoral Boards and Westsyde Connection present the return of the Sidewayz Art Exhibition

After a two year hiatus the Sidewayz Art Exhibition returns. Keeping with the original format of artworks on used skateboards and snowboards the exhibition continues to be a non-profit exercise, raising funds for a couple of good causes.

For the first time Sidewayz is proud to have numerous snowboard companies supplying their used decks as canvases including, GNU, K2, Roxy, Ride and Yes.

Opening at The National Grid Gallery on Saturday 4 June, as part of the Balmoral Boards Season Opener Party, over 50 artists from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are contributing to this years exhibition. A mix of emerging and established Australian artist talent will be up for silent auction on opening night and further bids will continue to be made throughout the following week online.

This year funds raised from Sidewayz 2011 will be split between The Christchurch Earthquake Appeal and the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund.

“We are really stoked to reintroduce Sidewayz at our Opening Season party this year”, Nathan Buhagiar co-owner of Balmoral Boards said. “Sidewayz has always been a great initiative and really brings out the generosity of the board sports community.”

We’ve always wanted to see it as an inclusive exhibition said Sidewayz Exhibition manager John Saulo. “Simply everyone joining together for a good cause. It’s great to see the snowboard industry getting behind the exhibition and bringing the stoke in a different way.”
